For outbound transfers, we'd recommend adding a minimum of 2-hours of time at the airport, on top of the following travel times, which already account for potential delays or border-crossings:

  • Baška to Zagreb Airport: 4.5 hours

  • Baška to Trieste Airport: 4 hours
  • Baška to Venice Airport: 5 hours
  • Baška to Pula Airport: 3 hours

For example, if your flight home departs from Zagreb airport at 19:25, you'd want to book an outbound transfer that departs from Baška at least 6.5 hours (4.5 hrs travel time + 2 hrs at the airport) prior. The 12:00 option would suffice.

Running & Hiking FAQs

Find out about what gear to bring, what the terrain is like, route safety, support, and what to expect along the way.

This is a mandatory kit list which should be used as a guide if you are taking part in any hiking & running activities at Love Trails Croatia, including the Timed Out race experience.

It is the sole responsibility of the participant to wear or carry the items with them at all times from start to finish, taking into account any weather at the time.

  • Trail running shoes – must have suitable tread. The trails can often be technical with rough limestone, so we’d recommend something with a bit of cushion and suitable tread

  • Suitable running race vest or pack

  • Waterproof jacket with taped seams (you’ll have to have this on your person depending on the weather forecast)

  • Mobile Phone (fully charged)

  • A water reservoir/bottle/flask (we'd suggest a minimum capacity of around 1 litre)

  • A reusable cup/mug. There will be no cups offered at the aid stations

  • First aid kit with a minimum of: wound bandage, 4x adhesive plasters, 4x safety pins, antiseptic wipes/cream, and any personal medication you require

  • Nutrition/Food for the duration of the time you’ll be out for

  • Suncream, or extra layers depending on the forecast

  • Head torch in case you’re caught out on the trails after dark (sunset is 18:40) with spare batteries to see you through the week

Please note that sunset is approximately 18:40, so it'll get dark just after 19:00. You'll need to pack a head torch if you're planning on staying out at the parties after your run/hike.

See our full Packing List here for a guide on what to pack for the week!

The terrain around Baška is pretty diverse, featuring rocky paths, forest trails, and routes that hug the rocky coastline.

You should be prepared for varying elevations and technical sections in between the aid stations.

Whilst some of the trails are compact and runnable, the island includes long sections of technical paths, with steep ascents and descents, and at times will involve a lot of hiking.

The trail conditions in this predominantly rocky landscape are very different to those found in the UK.

If you want to take part in the running & hiking experiences, then some experience in trail running or hiking is essential. The terrain around Baška is diverse, featuring rocky paths, forest trails, and coastal routes. You should be prepared for varying elevations and technical sections. Whilst some of the trails are compact and runnable, the area includes some sections of technical trails, with steep ascents and descents and at times will involve a lot of hiking.

Nope! Uniquely, Love Trails Croatia places equal weighting on trail running & hiking experiences. So whether you run, or prefer to hike - this event (and everything included across the entire week) has been programmed with you in mind.

We strongly recommend trail running shoes with good grip and stability. The terrain around Baška is varied with rocky and rough trails, loose gravel, and some steep ascents/descents. Road running shoes are not suitable, as they won’t provide enough traction or protection on the rougher sections.

The Timed Out™ race is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. With technical trails, breathtaking views, and our unique Experience-Stations, this race lets you enjoy the journey at your own pace. You’ll be given time at Experience Station, at which time your time will pause, giving you time to swim off secluded beaches, try creative workshops, dance to music, or simply relax with a cold drink.

You’ll tackle around 800m of elevation, as the route winds through some of the island’s most beautiful and diverse terrain. And once you finish at Club Porto, the post-race beach party kicks off with live music, DJs, and the unmistakable Love Trails energy.

Key Information

  • Day & Time: Friday 3rd October, 10:00

  • Distance: Approx. 18km | 800m elevation

  • Location: Club Porto, Baška

  • Route: Click here for the route on Strava

  • Aid Stations: The Timed Out Race includes three aid stations with food, hydration, and first aid support. Other running/hiking experiences are self-sufficient. The aid stations will be at approximately 5km, 8km and 13km.

  • Route Support & Guidance: This is a fully marked route, and GPX files will be shared in the official event WhatsApp group, and Strava links will be provided for watches or smartphones.

The running / hiking experiences on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday are all self exploratory routes and will have not have any check points or aid stations, so you'll need to pack snacks and hydration for the time you think you might be out for.

We recommend packing minimum 1litre of water, and enough nutrition to get you through a day on the trails. Some of the routes pass cafes and beachside huts where you can refuel! We'll send out details of where these places are so you can plan your day.

For the Timed Out race there will a total of 3 aid stations offering food and hydration, these will be staffed by marshals and more details will be sent to you in the lead up to the event day. Given the remote section of the routes, you must aim to be self-sufficient between aid stations, and be prepared with nutrition, hydration, clothing and equipment.

Yes! Many of the coastal routes pass stunning beaches and coves where you can take a dip. Swimming is at your own risk, and the sea can be rocky in places, but pack swimwear and a microfibre towel if you plan to take advantage of a dip,

Practical Information

From what to pack and how to prep, to currency, weather, and staying connected, this section has the everyday details covered.

20-24°C by day, cooling to roughly 15-17°C by night

At the end of September, Baška offers mild to warm, pleasant weather, as Croatia transitions from summer to autumn. Temperatures generally range from 16°C to 24°C, though warmer days are common. The temps are perfect for being active outdoors.

It can get quite cold in the evenings and after dark, so guests should be prepared for varying weather conditions, but generally speaking expect sunny days on the trails, with occasional rain showers.

Sea temperatures remain comfortable for swimming at roughly 22°C to 23°C. You can expect plentiful sunshine mixed with a higher chance of occasional rain compared to July or August.

Depending on where you’re coming from, there are certain visa regulations. For EU and UK citizens, you do not require a Visa and you can enter Croatia with a valid passport.

Other nationalities: Visa requirements vary. Check with the nearest government website.

We recommend bringing a debit/credit card AND cash (euros.) to Baška. Most places around Baška take card, but plenty of places only take cash, so please come prepared as you don't want to be caught out! There are several ATMs in Baška where you can get cash out on arrival.

Croatia uses the standard European two-pin plug (Type C & F) with 230V voltage. If you’re coming from the UK, US, or outside mainland Europe, you’ll need an adapter. We recommend bringing one with you so you’re fully charged for the trails.

As per our terms and conditions set out at the time of your booking, we are not able to refund tickets or defer tickets to later/other Love Trails experiences.

If you would like to sell your ticket package, we can accommodate booking transfers up until the 1st September, 2026. Please note: in order for us to transfer a booking, the balance must be paid off. We also do not facilitate any payment in a private sale.

If you would like to transfer your booking, please get in touch with us via email at hello@lovetrails.com.
