Location

We searched all over Europe before finding Krk island.

If we say Croatia, it might conjure a few different images for you. The bright blue Adriatic is one - but so are crowds, dry heat, and summer party boats. That's not this.

We have the stunning blue sea. But the summer visitors have gone home, the temperatures have dropped to something you can actually run and hike in, and the island reveals what it actually is. It’s dramatic, wild, and genuinely extraordinary. The trails, beaches, and forests are quieter, and the sea is still warm enough to swim in every morning.

Why September?

While much of Europe returns to routine, summer lingers on in Croatia.

Warm sea temperatures. Comfortable running conditions. Fewer crowds. Sun kissed days on the trails - but without the oppressive heat.

It's a side of Croatia that most people never get the chance to experience.

Why Baška?

Proper mountain trails + island vibes. Baška is a place built for adventure.

Uniquely, proper technical mountain trails rise straight out of the Adriatic. It’s the only Croatian island with actual mountains, coastal paths & dozens of exquisite beaches.

Hidden coves reveal themselves around every headland. And ancient stone walls and paths connect tiny villages & thousand year old ruins.

Oh, and every evening ends with the sea only a stones throw away. (Quick dip anyone?)

We knew we'd found somewhere special.

We fell in love with Baška the moment we saw it...

Krk is the only island in Croatia where you can run exhilarating mountain trails that descend down to beautiful deserted beaches.

Baška is a medieval harbour town built around one of the most beautiful bays on the Adriatic, it's small enough to feel intimate - you’ll get to know your way round soon enough - yet it feels complete enough that everything you need is here. To the north and south of Baška tower jagged mountains, making the area extraordinary for outdoor adventures.

Beyond the mountains and coastline, Baška has a character all of its own. The area is steeped in history, with centuries-old trails cutting through hillsides awash with wildflowers. Perhaps most memorable, though, is the pride and warmth of the local community, whose deep connection to this special corner of Croatia is evident wherever you go.

"Mountains rising from the sea, hidden coves tucked beneath dramatic cliffs, and trails disappearing into the horizon. It felt wild, welcoming and made for adventure."
